Industrial designer degree and master’s student in ″design and complexity″ at the UdeM École de design industriel, Louis Drouin focuses on major issues of design practice. His participation as a founding member of POIESIS interrelations en design led him to develop a critical perspective in communication design. His leitmotiv: question the contributors in this discipline about the meaning of the projects they undertake.
A graduate of the Interior Design program at the Université de Montréal, Laurence Duhamel pays particular attention to the stakes and movements that define designed environments of the 21st century. It is the constant evolution in the field as well as the multidisciplinary aspect of the industry that feed the creative energies of this young designer and researcher, captivated by the principles of "slow design" and affective "emotional ergonomics".
After studies in journalism and media art and technology, Marie-Claude Fafard, originally from Sept-Îles, settled in Montreal to hone her writing skills. After a stint as a news desk editor for the daily newspaper Metro, she turned to magazine, a world she has not left since. She occasionally acts as a research assistant on television and in the music field. An artistic soul, she prizes aesthetics and inventiveness, enjoys music, gastronomy, design, and has a strong interest in sustainable development.
An expert in design in the broader sense (from architecture to object creation), Alain Hochereau has, since 2003, contributed to numerous specialty magazines, radio shows and general newspapers such as the cultural weekly Voir. He is invited regularly to act as a critic for various events and exhibitions, including SIDIM (Salon International du Design d’Intérieur de Montréal), where he has been a Jury member for the show’s excellence prizes since 2007.
Sarah Lévesque has been working as a journalist in the cultural realm for over 10 years and is a contributor to several publications including INTÉRIEURS Magazine. She recently wrote Une île au coeur, a full-length feature film.
Daniel McBride has a Ph.D. in English Literature and Philosophy (University of Toronto). He worked for five years as an academic in Egypt and has travelled extensively in Asia. His passion for history and cultural evolution has led him to feel strongly that revision and translation work should produce an expressive language that is as rich as it is precise.
A text editor and proofreader, translator and teacher of French as a second language, Françoise Miquet is fluent in four languages. She held a text revising position for Médias Transcontinental for several years and now works for Décision Média. Born into design — her godmother is Ginette Gadoury —, she also runs Reno-Brico.com, a Web platform for renovation projects.
A Montreal journalist, novelist, writer and research assistant, Nathalie Roy has been a regular contributor to INTÉRIEURS magazine since 2001, and also writes in Vie des Arts.
